I See if Can Scrape It off With a Scalpel

Oil & Oil Pastel on Paper.

Size: 50 W x 70 H cm

The story of this work-

It’s dark and it's Halloween. There are lots of school kids giggling in front of the trolley. I’m looking at all the bright plastic adornments. Navigating around the kids, deciding not on the chocolate and sweets. In the main aisle, there is a shelf full of human-looking dolls, old men and women. There aren't many left. They have blue line marks under each eye. I see if can scrape it off with a scalpel. It comes off but reveals the white foamy base material underneath. They’re squidgy. The man doll has a single curl of hair on the front of its head.

Signed on the back.

Acid-free 400gsm paper. It is made from high-grade cellulose and is wood free. This paper is acid-free, with archival permanence.
